GEORGE CANYON Acting Up Again in “Dawn Rider”

Following on the heels of the made for TV movie A Mile in His Shoes – Nova Scotia born Country super star George Canyon has added another acting role to his resume with a spot in a major motion picture.

This time George is joining the cast of DAWN RIDER…a remake of the 1935 John Wayne classic The Dawn Rider (which btw was a remake of a 1931 western Galloping Thru).

Canyon will play Cattle Jack - our first look at the character came from the man himself. Here's a picture George tweeted from his wardrobe fitting (@GeorgeCanyon)

The feature film stars Christian Slater (True Romance), Jill Hennessy (Crossing Jordan) and Saint John, New Brunswick’s own movie legend Donald Sutherland who plays Pop.

Canyon broke briefly from his western Canada concert tour to film his scenes with the Burnaby, BC based production, but now he’s back on the road through to Christmas.

While there's still no word on a Canadian broadcast date for A Mile In His Shoes, the released date for DAWN RIDER has been slated for August 7, 2012. We'll keep you posted on all of it! SABS
