Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick to grab a coffee?

Around the corner from where I live is the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, my favorite place to have a coffee is on my back deck listening to the various rehearsal sounds or at the Belgian Cafe in the basement hub of the Arts Centre.

Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick to grab a pint?

The Lunar Rogue Pub: a classic Maritime pub, great food, service and saucy wit. They treat us like gold. Also considered one of the world’s great whiskey bars.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in New Brunswick?

I'm not a big shopper but certainly prefer going downtown to many of the family-owned stores as opposed to the mall. My favorite place to shop would have to be the Fredericton farmers market. A Saturday tradition since I was a kid, it has everything! Where else can you get samosas, apple cider, roasted nuts, and a souvlaki for breakfast?

Where in New Brunswick would we stand to see your favourite view?

In Fredericton one of the best views is from St. Thomas University’s campus looking down the hill at downtown and the whole river valley. My favorite view in NB would be watching the sun set and rise on Bai du Vin from the bank of my family cottage.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit New Brunswick:

Stop! Do not simply pass through!

1. Ride the giant Lobster in Shediac

2. Avoid being swept away by the tide at Hopewell Rocks

3. Make sure there is no oncoming traffic when you cross the world’s longest covered bridge in Hartland

What makes New Brunswick such a special place on earth for you?

We are the pass through province... "can't go round'er, gotta go through'er!" We are one of the best kept secrets in Canada, in fact a mini Canada. We are woods and water, rural and urban, French and English, rooted in our past but with a lot of ingenuity for the future. Mostly we have a tremendous amount of talent and resources, and space to breathe and dream... Best of all, we are never overcrowded (except perhaps the samosa line at the Fredericton market!)
