At Sea and be Scene we celebrate all the people, places and things that make the 4 Atlantic Provinces so special and with this interview we covered them all…
When it comes to people you’d have to go pretty far to find a fella who’s been a bigger proponent of Newfoundland & Labrador than Danny Williams. The Former Premier led the charge, energized the people, and reaffirmed the pride in his great province.
As for the places – we sat down for a chat in his beloved hometown, the city of St. John’s, NL in a venue that has played host to everyone from Alan Jackson to Justin Bieber, Pearl Jam to the Junos. Mile One Centre has seen festivals, fundraisers and its fair share of sporting events, including hockey.
In fact hockey is the thing that brought us together. If you haven’t heard, the AHL is back and Williams is now President & CEO of the brand new St. John’s IceCaps.
Indeed, Atlantic Canada once again has a Professional hockey team – and that’s truly worth celebrating!
We’re grateful to Mr. Williams for making the time to chat – what a pleasure! And what a time it’ll be when that puck drops on October 14th.
Let’s go IceCaps – Let’s go!!! SABS
SABS “Carpe Diem”
You’ll note at the end of the interview I mentioned my ability and availability to sing the anthem should my services ever be required….well as soon as the camera stopped rolling…I’m here to tell ya I broke into song. Belting out an American Anthem in ‘Doug Flutie -Hail Mary’ of an audition and…..I’m in baby - I’m in. Unsure as to when I’ll take to the ice – whether it will be during a real game or perhaps a work out session, but Mr. Danny Williams says I can sing the anthems for the team. HAPPY!!! sb
