Stan Rogers Folk Festival 15 years of Fantastic

Posted: June 3, 2011

Ask anyone who has attended the Stan Rogers Folk Festival “what’s it like?” and the answer will invariably come back “AMAZING!!!”

StanfestCelebrating 15 years Stanfest is an event like no other.  It is first and foremost a celebration of the songwriter – and that craft of creating music that inspires and moves and gets you moving.

It has become for so many an annual pilgrimage – each year, on Canada Day weekend they pack up their gear and get set to take it all in.  Artists from across the country, around the world and from right here in the Atlantic Provinces will take the stage, host workshops and truth be told become fans themselves of artists they’ve never seen before or have always loved but never met.

During these three days each year when the tiny town of Canso, Nova Scotia sees its population grow exponentially – the festival goers descend with delight, find the meaning behind the music, and leave only looking forward to the next Stanfest.  You should be there too! SABS

Its been a remarkable journey for us as organizers and for Canso, a community for whom a stellar success and good news story was so badly needed,” said Troy Greencorn, Artistic Director.  “In an industry inclined towards mega concerts and bigger and bigger headliners, our model is to present a volume and depth of talent that is unique for Eastern Canada. There is so much great music happening it is impossible to see it all, but the challenge excites and inspires our loyal audience. We're happy to be a new summer tradition for so many. Last year's "Tan Fest" helped to set audience records.”  Major credit cards are accepted and services charges apply.
