Derrick Paul Miller – At Home Here in New Brunswick

Occupation: Singer

Place of Birth: Fredericton, NB

Currently Resides: Toronto, ON/Fredericton, NB

Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick to grab a coffee?

Java Johnnie’s on York St. in Fredericton.  It’s at the back of Paradise Imports and the beans are roasted on-site...heaven in a cup!

Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick to grab a pint?

I am not a beer drinker at all, but if I am meeting friends for drink, the Lunar Rogue in Fredericton is the place to be!

Where’s your favourite place to shop in New Brunswick?

Fredericton boasts a wide array of specialty boutique-type stores all located downtown.  I love Peter Roberts for Men, Paradise Imports, The Urban Almanac, and for beautiful NB arts and crafts it’s got to be Old Orchard Crafts

Where in New Brunswick would we stand to see your favourite view?

Oh there are SO many places!  But if I had to narrow it down to a couple, I would have to say off my friend’s deck on Harvey Lake at sunset or off the walking bridge over the Saint John River in Fredericton.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit New Brunswick:

1. King’s Landing Historical Settlement

2. The Hopewell Rocks, the world’s highest tides!

3.  The Saint John Market, one of the world’s best!

What makes New Brunswick such a special place on earth for you?

I love the natural beauty of the province, it’s spectacular! Even more important for me is the cultural diversity and the arts community.  So vibrant and alive, whether it’s visual or performing arts.  Most of my family has remained in NB, so I try and spend as much time at home as possible.
