Just spoke with the Halifax production office for "Bag of Bones" the mini-series and here's the latest news...there is none!
No information on cast - as things are "still being worked on" but they hope to have "things in place" by the end of the week or early next.
As for those early rumours of Rob Lowe being cast in the lead - well they now look unlikely as he is currently in San Francisco shooting the indie film Knife-Fight with Julie Bowen. Which has us wondering if the once discussed Kurt Russell (discussed as in 'back in the early early days when this was a going to be a major motion picture movie') could be the actor set to play Mike Noonan...then again there's nothing showing on his 'radar' either.
One thing they did confirm was that all systems are still a go for the July 6th start date....hmmmm...almost as good as a Stephen King mystery this is....almost!
Stay tuned. SABS
PS - WHO DO YOU WANT TO SEE PLAY MIKE NOONAN??? Leave a comment and let us know (and please no waggering)

A mini-series based on Stephen King’s award winning novel Bag of Bones will begin shooting in Nova Scotia July 6th, 2011 continuing through to August 31st, 2011.
The 'haunted vacation house' novel will be directed by Mick Garris, the writer/director on three previous Stephen King TV films including The Shining, The Stand and Desperation.
Pre-poduction started today in the province, but die hard fans will note this project has been in the works for quite some time. Originally set to be a major motion picture shot in Maine the summer of 1999.
That'll bring the count to 2 - Stephen King based TV projects shooting in the province this summer - the first of course being the Syfy/Showcase series HAVEN.
We called the Sony Pictures Television NS Office just prior to posting and were told "as of now" there’s no official word on airdate, channel or even cast at this point. We’ll certainly keep you posted as the production progresses. SABS
