Posted: April 26, 2011
Donald Sutherland’s home province of New Brunswick gets the last slated date on the U2 360° tour this summer – and Donald Sutherland will star opposite U2’s drummer in his first major motion picture.
Larry Mullen Jr. will not only make his film debut in the crime movie Man on a Train, but he is billed as producer and composer too.
Adapted from Patrice Leconte's 2002 film L'Homme du Train, the film tells the tale of a retired small town school-teacher (played by Sutherland) prepping for open-heart surgery who crosses paths with a stranger (played by Mullen Jr.) who’s planning on robbing the local bank.
The film is an Irish-Canadian co-production produced in association with Windmill Lane Pictures in Ireland and Maple Pictures in Canada and was shot in Dundas and Orangeville, ON.
Currently listed in ‘post-production’, the film’s release date has not been set. We’ll keep you posted. SABS
