Songwriters Circle – Harmony House Highlights

Posted: April 30, 2011

While most of the 2011 ECMA week events, meetings and mayhem happened in Charlottetown, PEI this year…there were some sweet surprises if you ventured out of the big city.  Case in point the Songwriters Circle at Harmony House in Hunter River – where four gifted artists – shared their music with the lucky crowd.

Songwriters CircleFour award winning artists Kim Dunn NS, Dave Gunning NS,  Thom Swift NB and Kim Wempe NS took the stage, told stories and moved all with their music.

If you weren’t lucky enough to be there – we’ve got some highlights for you.

Enjoy! SABS

SABS A Note of “Apology” for those in Attendance

First let us just say…there was a folding chair on the floor in the middle of the row and the theatre was dark.  Those facts combined with a big footed camera man and well…all hopes of subtly capturing the concert were very loudly dashed. While both Mr. Gunning and Mr. Swift said it was fine (and funny) – Mr. Dunn and Ms. Wempe could not be reached for comment prior to posting.  Needless to say we are sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused and thank you for keeping the mockery to a minimum. sb

  2. I was lucky enough to be at this concert - we really enjoyed it. As someone who likes to photograph concerts and record them I had SO MUCH empathy for the photographer that was tripped up while exiting his isle... man - I thought the performers were a little harsh - although good natured. I'm sure the man was mortified... but as the concert progressed you came to realize that not only were the performers prepared to tackle the missteps of the photographer, they were more than a little punchy with each other... haha- lot's of good natured ribbing than kept us on the edge of our seats...

  3. Hey Barbara - it was all in good fun for sure! Camera Guy Steve is pretty layed back too so not much bothers him - I'm just happy he didn't drop the camera ;o)
