Republic of Doyle – Where do we go now???

Pardon me for quoting Axel Rose but seriously ‘where do we go now’? What are we supposed to do on Wednesday nights …and more to the point…how are we supposed to wait until January to see what happens next on Republic of Doyle? Last night’s show had everything you want in a season finale…and then some. High drama – great romance – happy endings…well 2 out of 3 anyway.
After Episode 213 “Family Business” aired last night and the final credits rolled…we were left with a lot more questions than answers…questions like…
Will Leslie let Jake back in
(figuratively & literally?)
Will she ever get back on the force?
.
..
Will Jake really return to the constabulary?
Will he really close down the agency forever?
.Will
....
.
Will Tinny be “gone to London” for good?
Will Des find someone else?
.
..
.
Will Malachy’s retirement mean he and Rose are selling the house and splitting town?
.
.
..
.
Will William Cadigan Clarke weasel his way back?
(what a sleveen!)

..
.
.
Will Allison have any help unpacking those boxes?

.
.
I mean come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And here’s something else to chew on – will season 3 pick right back up with Jake outside Leslie’s door – champagne and flowers in hand OR will it start months or years later – with Tinny back from her trip and Allison and Jake living happily, baby on the way…. (Just threw in that baby part for s’s & g’s…but can you imagine – Jake Doyle a dad?! Maybe…)
Anyway – since we’ve got some time on our hands ‘til we return to the Republic…we thought we’d throw it out there…and get your thoughts on what’s next for next season.

Maybe being a Dad would straighten Jake right out!

Ainslie , you are making the assumption that Jake needs to be straightened out. From comments I have heard the ladies love him as he is.

I don't think I'll survive the wait till next January to find out what will happen. As cliff-hangers go, this one was probably one of the best ever written. We got a glimpse at Jake's past; all the characters are developing as they would in real life, and just when we thought Jake and Leslie would find bliss in each other's arms...
My first thought was: they will put Leslie and Jake on this new Task Force together! One can only hope. We need a few more seasons of the two of them sparring, I think.
Meanwhile, I'm really worried that some of my other favourite characters will not return: Malachy and Rose, Tinny and Christian. I love the friendly rivalry between the brothers.
Keep us guessing, dear writers and producers. And keep going. This show certainly is a winner!

I picture the show coming back at least six months later. Mal and Rose are going nuts in their retirement and are going to re-start the agency. Des will think he will fill Jake`s role, but Leslie is also going crazy without work, so she`ll climb on board. It would be interesting to see her and Jake with roles reversed. Finally, I see Tinny coming back by the end of the first episode of the new season...noticeably pregnant.

Oh Yes, I too see The Return Of Doyle... could include conflicts of interest = Brother v/s Brother. Mal and Rose stick-handling retirement in the Caribbean fighting a burning desire to return to NL and bang some heads together.

Omg... He is sooo damn hot! why do i always fall for the "dark and twisted" bad guy? even in real live.... Can't wait for season 3!!!!!!!
