Tim Isaac – At Home Here in New Brunswick

Occupation: Musician and Potter…as you can see making lots of money isn't too important to me

Place of Birth: Winkler Manitoba (Mennonite Community) but grew up in Brandon MB

Currently Resides:  New Horton NB

Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick to grab a coffee?

Octopus' Garden in Alma, run by a funky young couple who are on the leading edge of a renewed regional "back to the land" movement. Gotta love it.

Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick to grab a pint?

The Laundromat in Moncton. As much as I love all things Picaroons, the laundry has something dark and mysterious from Quebec that drives me wild....The Aphrodisiaque.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in New Brunswick?

I'm not a big shopper, but I do enjoy accompanying Nina when she shops for summer dresses.

Where in New Brunswick would we stand to see your favourite view?

Right in front of my home in New Horton! Cars stop all summer when they come over the hill and the panorama of marsh and sea hits them. I should really moonlight and open a lemonade stand.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit New Brunswick:

  1. Take home some hand crafted NB pottery
  2. If it's stormy weather, park at Cape Enrage and feel the wind pick up your car
  3. Go mud-sliding on the slick banks of one of the many tidal rivers. And take your clothes off, you're in New Brunswick!

What makes New Brunswick such a special place on earth for you?

The beautifully dramatic and rugged Fundy coast, that's really what first drew me to New Brunswick
