Where’s your favourite place in PEI to grab a coffee?
I’d have to say Café Diem. It’s a great spot on Victoria Row only open in the summer time. I’ve spent a lot of hours hanging out there, drinking coffee enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Charlottetown.
Where’s your favourite place in PEI to grab a pint?
It varies from season to season… In the summertime, head to Fishbones (on Victoria Row) and in the winter listen to some great east coast music at the Old Triangle. Hunter Ale House is also a great spot to hang out, grab a pint and listen to great bands.
Where’s your favourite place to shop in PEI?
The Green Man – Vintage & Vinyl is a cool vintage clothing store. If you’re shopping for music, hit up Back Alley Music just across the road, great selection.
Where in PEI would we stand to see your favourite view?
Rollo Bay Flats is an unbelievable view of the fields and water. Coincidentally just up the road from where I grew up
Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when I visit PEI:
1. Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival. It’s a festival my grandfather started 35 years ago on the one of the best properties on PEI… My family still runs it - 3 days of non stop music, camping and an all around good time! www.rollobayfiddlefest.ca
2. Basin Head Beach. Close to the eastern tip of PEI, I’ve spent all my summers at this beach. Beautiful white sand, a run to jump off and float through and a beautiful view to enjoy some cold refreshments There’s a neat fisheries museum you may want to check out too. Do not skip out on Basin Head if you come to PEI!
3. Victoria Row. Make sure you check out Victoria Row in the summer, lots of cool restaurants and shops to check out. It’s blocked off for only pedestrians and features music 7 days/nights a week. Basically go for supper, order drinks and stick around… Guaranteed good night!
What makes Prince Edward Island such a special place for you?
Everything about PEI is special. The people are great… It’s so laid back and relaxing. The landscape is also beautiful - there isn’t an area of PEI that isn’t unique. One of the best things though would have to be the music. Any night of the week you can listen to talented folks doing their thing. Whether it be at a bar, celiedh or kitchen party - we like to play music and have a good time!
