Currently Resides:  Halifax, NS

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?

Wired Monk, Hollis St., Halifax (across the street from my office)

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a pint?

Carleton Restaurant, Halifax (because there is usually great live music playing in the background) www.thecarleton.ca

Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?

Staples Business Depot (I know it’s weird – it’s the obsessive/compulsive in me – I just love stationery stores)

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

Cape Mabou, Inverness County

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:

1. In Halifax, it’s got to be a meal and live music at the Carleton Restaurant

2. For outdoor adventures it’s hard to beat a day of Shubie Whitewater rafting www.tidalboreraftingpark.com

3. With roots in Cape Breton, I’ve got to promote the Cabot Trail – especially in the fall colours

What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

People are good to each other here.  The music community is a vibrant one

  1. Hi Ian, founder of GroundSwell Music,
Thanksgiving 2013 my husband and I were married.
We danced to the song that Dave wrote for your wedding, "The Wedding Gift".
Our photo gallery just arrived, and we found this profile while looking for your e-mail address, in order to send you a picture. Will definitely dine at the Carleton Restaurant next time we are in town.
Our wedding party performed The Canadian Barn Dance, as we learned at a ceilidh on Barra Island, Outer Hebrides, at a Worldwide Reunion of the McNeils in 2008. Enter the Haggis' "ScotsNagila" also kept the dance floor hoppin'.
If you get this message, send your e-mail. We'll keep looking. Mikhail + Carol PS. Carol loves shopping at Staples too -- have you seen the blue, poster-sized Post-it notes yet? C.
