Comes with the Territory

comes with the territoryPosted: January 23/11

I think I speak for everyone in Canada’s Ocean Playground today when I say – "Sweet merciful heavens it’s freezing!!!"  I heard a man at the gas station put it another way this morning – but it’s not that kind of website…suffice it to say - it is beyond chilly and set to get chillier, and there ain’t much we can do about it.

Comes with the territory, and when it comes right down to it I’m okay with that - because I love the seasons.  I’m not good with the fact that my driveway is better suited for curling than driving but it’ll melt…eventually. Hurry hard – spring!!!

It is hard to believe that only a few months ago we were talking about the stifling heat, the fabulous foliage, and the first snowflake sighting - and in a few months from now - we’ll be talking about planting gardens and where to go on the May long weekend and who’s touring where this summer.  Time sure does fly no matter where you live.

Now - I’ve been quite open about autumn being my favourite season but each has their own merit and I’ve decided – for me it’s best to embrace this winter business.  So bracing myself against the wind chill of minus 'you don’t want to know what'…I took a picture of one of my favourite views.winter view

Summer viewAnd when you compare it to the one I took of the same view this summer…there’s not that much difference.  Still beautiful – still inspiring - still home.

We in Canada have much to celebrate as a country – the seasons are a reason for me.

So cheers to the chill factor, the frigid temps and who’s kidding who – off season pricing! To Winter in the Atlantic Provinces….now here’s your hat…sb
