Place of Birth: Halifax, NS

Currently Resides: in the burbs of Halifax, NS

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?

The espresso machine in my office. But, it runs pretty much exclusively on Trident Café Italian Roast beans. If I’m out in the Bay - the Bike and Bean. Great atmosphere and they sell bicycles too. Win.

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a pint?

Henry House, downtown Halifax - hands down.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?

Any local bike shop (LBS).

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

There’s this little beach down near Peggy’s Cove, off Paddy’s Head Rd. I think it’s private property now (I heard rumours that it’s owned by a famous Nova Scotia singer/songwriter). There’s a cliff you can get to with a view of one of the islands, and great swimming.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:

1. Hike the Skyline trail in Cape Breton.

2. Ride mountain bike trails in the Wentworth valley.

3. Grab a few pints of Granite Brewery’s finest on the patio of the Henry House on a warm August evening before seeing a band at the Paragon.

What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

Art. Music. Really challenging mountain bike trails within minutes of the city centre. Universities. A committed and interesting small business community.

*SABS note: for the record Kula Partners (aka Kool-Aid Boys as my daughter calls them) are the awesome team behind the ‘just what I wanted’ design and development, etc. of Sea and be Scene.  I met Jeff back when the site was still a dream…and I’ve been asking him for this profile since then…granted he’s been busy!  Glad to have you aboard JW...and YES - you are cool!!! sb
