Inception....Your mind is the scene of the crime
....eeek! Sounds thrilling for sure - after watching the trailer - there's no doubt that Inception (the IMAX Experience) will be out of this world with effects. Out in theatres Friday, July 16th - Halifax born Ellen Page returns to the big screen for some big time action, decidedly different from her last role on roller-skates in Whip It...
"Sure, shooting this movie made me think more about my dreams. But what 'Inception' made me think of more...is my awake world and the elusiveness of all life" Ellen Page
although not necessarily grounded - Page plays apprentice to Leonardo DiCaprio - as they attempt to plant information deep within the subconscious during the dream state...whoa...so not JUNO - but when it came to choosing this BIG movie the "the tiny Canadian" (a nickname given to her by NYC roommates) was motivated by the honesty of the script and the characters.
"Sure, shooting this movie made me think more about my dreams. But what 'Inception' made me think of more, especially because of books I was reading at the time, is my awake world and the elusiveness of all life. My own, individual perspective and the thoughts I'm creating for myself."
Next year she will take a turn at TV, starring in Tilda, a comedy about a powerful Hollywood journalist, played by Diane Keaton, and an upstart creative assistant played by Page. For the record, the project was written and is being directed by Bill (Oscar Winner) Condon who's currently in pre-production to direct The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2....but I digress.
SABS has it on good authority that Ms. Page will be in her home province this August...stand by for further details and enjoy the movie!

PS - that Oscar Winner - Hans Zimmer sure does craft some creepy music...in a good way
