A Fabulous Fall…a photo essay by Kelley Edwards

Fall is fabulous...so is Kelley Edwards – she is talented and funny, and her Facebook posts make my day.  I met Kelley through many of my pals who have been friends with her forever and so I thought it best to have one of them share in the shout out to this lovely lady. Stephen Antle (former TV host & current Artist Manager) has worked and played with Kelley through the years and he has always cherished their great friendship. When asked to write the intro to her photo essay he was more than happy salute Ms. Edwards, and I thank them both for their contributions. SABS

Introduction:

With over 20 years of creative output to her credit, it is no wonder she would try her hand at photography.  Kelley is an accomplished actor, writer and director of theatre, a musician/songwriter and original band member of Sydney, Cape Breton band ASHIGO as well as a fierce voice-over talent.

Kelley EdwardsBUT...

If you asked Kelley her true passion, it is the beaches of Atlantic Canada!  This dedicated "water nymph" has been known to swim in the Atlantic as late as Halloween...for real...and spooky!!

As for home life, Kelley shares her great Halifax living space with two cats, the mean one, and Marley. (Writer's note - I don't actually remember the name of the mean one, but he's always mean to me when we cross paths.)

Kelley loves the east coast and its natural beauty and has captured some wonderful images to show us why! Stephen J. Antle

I love the four seasons, but autumn has always been one of my favourites; the colors are breathtaking and the air is invigorating.Kelly Edwards Original

Kelly Edwards OriginalTo me, the fall also means getting ready for Winter- putting things away, pulling out warmer clothes.

But it never means saying good-bye to the beach. This is my favourite place to be, no matter what the season and the choice of beaches in Nova Scotia are endless.

Kelly Edwards OriginalEven on a chilly autumn day, it is wonderful to bundle up and feel the salt air. The light is different, and so is the mood. But it is always glorious.

Sometimes, there isn't time to travel far, but luckily, that isn't necessary, as there are spots within Halifax, and just outside the city...

Just off the Purcell's Cove Road is a little place known as "The Frog Pond". There is a walking trail with brilliant foliage. Kelley Edwards Original

I love the way the colors bleed into the water, almost like a painting...

Some of my most favourite places to visit, no matter where I go, are the cemeteries, and Halifax has some lovely old ones.

This stone is from Fort Massey Cemetery, in the heart of the city.

One of the greatest things about living near the ocean is that it is different every time.Kelley Edwards Original  Even in the course of a day, sky and water can change so much.

White Point has so much to offer... gorgeous surf, beautiful beaches, and BUNNIES!

As much or as often as I've traveled, I've always enjoyed the scenery provided by my home province of Nova Scotia.  So many spend a lot to come here from all over the world, and I am constantly reminded of how lucky we are.  While each season offers such special beauty, the autumn holds a particular charm for me. Kelley Edwards Original

I love to play tourist in my home town of Halifax, and throughout the Province.

Kelley Edwards OriginalNothing says autumn like the gorgeous harvest, especially in the lush Annapolis Valley.

So many little spots along the way to stop and take some shots, and this one was just outside Wolfville.
