In the Mix at Lakewind Sound Studios

It’s a celebrated spot indeed...everyone who’s anyone in East Coast Music has recorded at Lakewind Sound Studios. People like Natalie MacMaster, Rita MacNeil, The Rankins, you name it...they’ve all had that experience and the results have garnered co-owners Fred Lavery NS and Gordie Sampson NS  a boat load - or to be more specific a studio filled with awards.  Perhaps it’s because they are both gifted musicians and experienced producers that the music made at Lakewind is internationally renowned.  Whatever the formula - artists love recording there, players love being in session and music fans from every corner of the planet love what they are creating in beautiful Point Aconi, Cape Breton, NS.  We were glad to be “in the mix”...our brush with greatness for sure.  SABS

A Remake in the Making...

It all started last December, when following a great time at the Cape Breton Christmas Daddies telethon – I was seated next to Aaron Lewis NS at the wrap dinner.  He’d performed on that show throughout the broadcast and in addition to being a great musician he’s an incredible vocalist – so I wasn’t at all shocked when he mentioned he’d be recording an album soon (do the kids still call it that?).  Anyway – somehow the subject of a duet came up and... let’s just say, after a decade or so out of the studio – I was blown away that someone would want me back in – but bless his heart...on August 23rd, 2010... thanks to the open-mindedness/kindness of Mr. Lewis I was in the vocal booth once more doing a song that I’ve loved for a long long time.  Aaron – we salute you and we THANK you!!!...and we can’t wait for the release party!!!
