So get this...4 nominations from Music Nova Scotia where Amelia Curran currently resides and 4 nominations from Music Newfoundland & Labrador, the province from which she hails. That’s amazing!!!
We caught up to Amelia last month at the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival - the day after her big main stage concert and just minutes before her intimate songwriter’s workshop. Relaxed and enveloped in the warmth of ‘being home’. It was in the streets of St. John’s that Curran started playing her music - as she says “out of necessity” – and today while the passersby have turned to passionate fans, and the streets have turned to world-wide stages..there’s no doubt, music to her... has never been more necessary. Heard and bought "Dozens" last summer; just found "The Mistress" lately and really....I am hooked. I wonder if she will ever come to Saskatchewan?
