Barry Much Deserved

Posted: August 14, 2010

Jason Barry was born in New Castle, New Brunswick and if you check his cool people profile on this site you’ll note – he is looking forward to retiring in the homeland sometime in the future. Jason Barry

For the moment, however, he is BUSY working....and earning some much deserved accolades.  Check this year’s nominees for the Canadian Country Music Association Awards (www.ccma.org) and you will see his name all over the place – as musician, as producer, as studio owner...you name it.

A gifted singer, guitar player, songwriter and an awesome producer he has made his mark on Canadian Country Music for sure – working with such artists as Terri Clark, Dean Brody, Aaron Lines,  Jason Blaine and Shane Yellowbird (who’s video you’ll see above – Jason has a Producer of the Year nomination for Yellowbird's disc It's About Time).   Beyond the countless hours touring and in studio he has been a  friend and supporter of so many – myself included.

It’s wonderful to see such a remarkable person be so remarkably recognized.  While the hardware won’t be doled out until September 12th in Edmonton, Alberta – we salute you Jason – ‘cause like they always say – it’s an honour just to be nominated – but more than anything it’s an honour to call you friend!  Now can I get an amen?

Jason Barry we think you rock AND we wish you all the luck in the world – break a string Woody!!! SABS

  4. Congrats - Jason. When I used to back you up at variety concerts in the Miramichi in the 70's I knew you could go places but I never imagined this.
